Scanning
While scanning, ImageSpace provides a voxel-based preview of your scene, showing scanned areas and gaps in coverage. This helps you visualize the progress of your scan and identify any missed spots in real time.
Tips for Optimal Scanning Results:
- Revisit Scanned Areas: Revisiting areas enhances scan accuracy by allowing the app to match additional visual features, optimizing alignment and creating a more precise model.
- Move Slowly: Particularly in low-light indoor environments, moving slowly reduces motion blur and improves model sharpness.
- Open Doors and Windows in Interior Spaces: Extra light improves scan quality, and open doors or windows help ImageSpace recognize and connect adjacent rooms.
- Stay 5-6 Feet (2 Meters) from Surfaces: This distance offers optimal visual context for pose optimization and model accuracy.
- Pause, Review, and Resume: You can stop scanning to check your model, identify missed or misaligned areas, and resume scanning to fill in gaps or add detail.
You can hold the camera icon and speak to take notes and pictures during scanning. These pictures will be saved to your snapshots associated with your scan.
The app will collect images for reconstruction as you are scanning. You can also browse these images in the frames mode. You can purge these images in the scan details ( → Details). Once deleted however, you will not be able to resume or use the search feature.
