Annotations

The annotation feature in ImageSpace allows you to label spaces (like rooms and regions) or positions on selected surfaces.

In floorplan mode, a central grid previews the orientation of the model’s surface. The grid helps you select the correct surface for annotating.

Horizontal Surface Horizontal surface : Selecting this surface will move the camera to a top down view for creating rooms and regions in the selected level .
Vertical Surface Vertical surface : Selecting this surface will move the camera to a frontal view for creating doors and windows.

Tapping Select Surface will move the camera to the selected surface and bring up a drawing interface for creating annotations.

For smaller details, use the Select Surface button to create point annotations. These will appear as labeled points in the exported floorplan.

You can edit or delete annotations at any time, so don’t worry about making mistakes!

Some horizontal annotations have specific meanings:

  • Rooms : Represent spaces that extend from the floor to the ceiling height of the selected level. If your scan includes room annotations, a dedicated room layout page will be added to the floorplan.
  • Exterior : Marks the building’s exterior, useful for generating Gross Livable Area (GLA) measurements. Including an exterior annotation will generate a GLA page in the floorplan .
  • Regions : Define areas not considered rooms and are excluded from GLA measurements. Examples include decks, patios, pools, and garages.

Naming annotations is optional; if left blank, they will default to the annotation type.

Levels marked as exportable will generate individual floorplan pages, including any annotations that overlap with the selected level.
